But guess what? Monday comes… and goes.
And we’re back to scrolling reels, saying “English improve nahi ho rahi yaar.” Kyu nahi ho rahi English improve?
Whether you’re preparing for Class 10, Class 12, junior classes, ICSE, CBSE, State boards or just want to sound smarter without using “very” in every sentence—this plan is your cheat code.
Let’s dive in — day by day, word by word!
On Monday
- Take 20 mins out of your busy schedule and read the editorial of The Hindu (Student Edition) or The Times of India NIE
- Underline new words, observe the formal writing style
- Then spend 10 mins to watch a short TED-Ed video or BBC Learning English lesson. Video dekhni hai. 2 min ke baad shorts ya reels mat scroll karne lag jaana. Stay focused!!
- Explore the topic ideas like- Kindness, climate change, education, or technology. This is very trending right now.
On Tuesday
- Take 15 mins to read 1 chapter from a fiction book (e.g., The Alchemist)
- Focus on Expressions, storytelling, metaphors.
- Spend another 10 mins to note down 5 new words and make your own sentences using them. Sounds kind of impractical. But trust me if you will follow it really helps.
On Wednesday
- Take 20 mins to read an article from Reader’s Digest or The Week – Junior
- Focus on Anecdotes and real-life stories for essay examples.
- Then spend another 5 mins: Review your vocabulary journal, yaad hai..jo banane bola tha.
On Thursday
- Take 15 mins to read a blog or answer on Quora or Medium on topics like education, leadership, or social media.
- Then spend another 10 mins to practice writing a short 100-word opinion paragraph using 2–3 new words.
On Friday
- Spend 15 mins to read a story from Footprints Without Feet (NCERT) or Wings of Fire
- Focus on Moral takeaway or life lesson
- Then spend another 10 mins to write down one real-life example you can use in an essay.
On Saturday
- Spend 20 mins to watch an educational YouTube channel (like Study IQ or BBC Learning English) and Beauty of Language.
- Explore on Topics like: Social issues, environment, technology
- Then spend another 10 mins to summarize the video in 3-4 sentences in your notebook.
And then on Sunday
- Spend 30 mins to write a short essay (200–300 words) on any current topic. Or you can take ideas from previous year’s question papers. - So, use:
- 2 new words from your journal
- 1 real-life example
- Clear structure: intro, body, conclusion.

And trust me, after 2–3 weeks of following this plan, you’ll start sounding less like “I am good in English” and more like “My English is evolving, thank you very much.”
